OHRENT’S GOOD IDEA

Share

In reading Larry Ceplair’s review of “Forty-Eight Minutes” (The Book Review, Jan. 10), I was struck by the fact that he referred to the format as “a brilliant idea concerned and implemented by the two authors.”

The idea to do a basketball game may have been a brilliant idea, but the format had been used in a book called “Nine Innings” written by Daniel Ohrent. It was written about a baseball game played in 1982 between Milwaukee and Baltimore. On the cover of that book is the statement “an anatomy of baseball as seen through the playing of a single game”! It was copyrighted in 1985.
