The 33rd annual National Secondary Mortgage Market Conference of the U. S. League of Savings Institutions opens today in Anaheim.
The four-day event is billed as the only national meeting that brings together all segments of the secondary mortgage market: savings institutions, commercial banks, mortgage bankers, private mortgage insurance companies, investment bankers, mortgage brokers, life insurance companies and pension funds.
Among the speakers are Leland Brendsel, president of the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corp. (Freddie Mac); David Maxwell, chairman of the Federal National Mortgage Assn. (Fannie Mae), and Theo H. Pitt Jr., chairman of the U.S. League. John Rutledge, chairman of Claremont Economic Institute, Claremont, will give a forecast of the economy and interest rates.
