Starting salaries for MBA graduates from top U.S. business schools rose to new highs in 1987--and for the first time several schools reported average annual compensation in excess of $50,000. A survey by New York University’s Graduate School of Business Administration of information released by the schools and on previously published reports found that the top 10 schools achieved an average increase of 8.2% in 1987 over the figures for 1986. Stanford University students had the highest average starting salary, reaching $50,725.
