Proposal for Beautification

We read (Jan. 5) that Studio City plans to spend $42,000 to beautify a piece of lawn the size of a handkerchief standing at the intersection of Ventura Boulevard and Radford Avenue.
$42,000??
What are they going to do? Lay down 24-karat gold-plated grass?
Just get three benches, paint one red, one white and one blue and, for no more than $500, you will have beautified the area and given a place to rest to anyone walking by.
$42,000? Are we all going crazy?
