Lazers Post a 6-4 Victory Over Force

RICHFIELD, Ohio — Thompson Usiyan scored two goals and assisted on another Thursday night, leading the Lazers to a 6-4 Major Indoor Soccer League victory over the Cleveland Force.
The Force (17-10) had a winning streak snapped at six games and its East Division lead over Minnesota dropped to two games. The Lazers (12-12) defeated the Force for the third time in as many meetings this season. Cleveland began the season with a 15-1 lifetime record against Los Angeles.
Paul Child’s 11th goal of the season, 2:04 into the game, put the Lazers in front. Usiyan scored his 14th goal at 6:46.
Cleveland tied the score on first-quarter goals by Gino DiFlorio and Ali Kazemaini.
Former Force player Chris Chueden put the Lazers ahead to stay, 3-2, with his eighth goal of the season, at 3:33 of the second quarter. Adam Topolski’s fifth goal, assisted by Chueden, gave the Lazers a two-goal lead at 8:04.
Pasquale DeLuca’s eighth goal of the season pulled Cleveland within 4-3 at halftime.
The Lazers took a three-goal lead on third-quarter goals by Jim Gabarra and Usiyan. John Stollmeyer closed out the scoring for the Force with his 12th goal, at 9:37 of the third quarter.
