A 30-second scene featuring two-time presidential aspirant Gary Hart was clipped from KTLA-TV Channel 5’s Wednesday night “Cheers” re-broadcast--a victim of Hart’s current re-campaign. TV Guide had promised a cameo by Hart in the segment first seen during the 1985-86 season, but the local broadcaster, which airs the episodes in order, realized the appearance could violate equal time provisions of broadcasting regulations. A last-minute editing session left the scene on Hollywood’s venerable cutting room floor.
