Pepperdine’s basketball team, tied for second place with Santa Clara in the West Coast Athletic Conference, will play the Broncos tonight at Santa Clara and meet the University of San Francisco Saturday night at USF.

Pepperdine has won seven of its last eight games and is 13-6 overall and 5-1 in WCAC play. The Waves are coming off victories at home over Portland, 93-85, and Gonzaga, 84-59.

Santa Clara won back-to-back games from USF (11-8, 3-3) last week. The Broncos (14-5, 5-1) first won at home, 69-65, and then defeated the Dons, 69-67, at USF.

Pepperdine’s Tom Lewis leads the Waves with an average of 22.7 points a game. Lewis has been playing at guard as well as at his normal forward spot because of a season-ending injury to junior guard Marty Wilson.
