Fire Bombing of Fullerton Temple
The Board of Directors of the Institute for Religion and Wholeness at the School of Theology, Claremont, deplores the recent fire bombing of the Temple Beth Tikyah in Fullerton.
We are convinced that wholeness for us all will come only when persons live in peace with each other and when the rights of all to live in safety are respected. The anti-Semitism reflected in this abominable act is clearly in opposition to such goals.
We are appalled that during this time when we remember the legacy of Martin Luther King, there are still those who would divide persons rather than unify them.
We call on all people to unite in forthrightly opposing all those who would promote hate and bigotry. Let us not stand idly by and allow poisonous prejudice of any kind to gain a foothold among us.
