Bomb Scare at Federal Building
Streets around the Federal Building in downtown Los Angeles were closed for more than half an hour this morning while Los Angeles Police Department bomb personnel inspected and finally blew up a “suspicious package” they thought might have been a bomb.
The package, which contained no explosives, turned out to be a tool box. Officers said traffic on Temple, Aliso and Main streets returned to normal shortly before noon. Traffic on the adjacent Hollywood Freeway was not affected, officer said.
