New Women’s Hospital at a Glance
The 88,000-square-foot building being added to the 178-bed Saddleback Hospital in Laguna Hills is being built for $20 million and is expected to be completed in April. Plans call for it to open with 33 beds and a staff of 60 physicians and 80 nurses.
There will be 21 labor, delivery and postpartum rooms, which can also be used for general medical/surgical purposes. Each room will contain one bed for an adult patient.
The hospital’s remaining 12 beds will be for infants.
Other features include a community health education center, a physical rehabilitation facility, a breast mammography center, general X-ray services, an informational resource center, a supervised child care area and a pharmacy.
The hospital is also building a connecting 130,000-square-foot medical offices building for $17 million.
