UCLA Signs Five Southland Women’s Volleyball Players

The UCLA women’s volleyball team announced five signings Thursday, led by outside hitter Jenny Evans of Newport Harbor, a three-time All-Southern Section pick.

In addition to Evans, the Southern Section 5-A player of the year, UCLA also signed outside hitter Elaine Youngs of El Toro, outside hitter Laurie Jones from Huntington Beach, middle blocker Rachel Norris from San Gabriel and setter Jennifer Gratteau from Marina of Huntington Beach.

USC signed two players, Kiersten Finch, an All-Southern Section setter from Los Altos of Hacienda Heights and middle blocker-outside hitter Stefanie Bodison from Rockville, Md. Bodison attends Bonanza High in Las Vegas and plays for the Las Vegas Volleyball Club, but her entire high school playing career was spent in Rockville.

Cari Delson of Irvine, Carolyn Hueth of West Torrance and Lesli Asplund from Vancouver, Wash., signed with Pepperdine.
