Former KTTV-TV Channel 11 anchorwoman Jacki King, who was fired from the station in 1981 and related how she ended up bankrupt and homeless, is coming to your living room.

She just sold her story, which originally appeared last year as a first-person account in The Times’ View section, for “six figures.” This according to producer Michael Viner (TV’s “Windmills of the Gods”), who will produce a TV movie via his Dove Inc. and ITC Prods.

Viner said that King is writing the screenplay and will serve as a consultant.

Besieged with offers for her story, King told us that she had queries from several movie stars, including Cher, as well as a Academy Award-winning director whom she declined to name.

Said King: “They identified with it personally. They thought the idea of being rich or successful one day and suddenly being homeless could happen . . . Look at (ex-Texas) Gov. John Connally and (pop singer) Andy Gibb, recently filing for bankruptcy, and you know that threat is real.”
