Events in the news this week.
Monday is President’s Day, in observance of George Washington’s and Abraham Lincoln’s birthdays. All Orange County public grade schools and community colleges will be closed, as will banks, city offices (except in Westminster) and county, state and federal offices. There will be no mail delivery.
Also on the holiday front, Wednesday is the first day of the new year in the lunar calendar observed by the Chinese, Vietnamese and Koreans. The annual Tet Festival marking the arrival of the new Year of the Dragon for the county’s extensive Vietnamese community continues today at Centennial Regional Park in Santa Ana.
