Quake Jolts Peru Coast

LIMA, Peru —
An earthquake registering 5.0 on the Richter scale hit the southern coast of Peru on Monday, startling residents in several cities but causing no damage or injuries, the government said. The quake was centered under the Pacific Ocean floor 12 miles northwest of the town of Chincha.
