The New Jersey Nets fined forward Orlando Woolridge for missing two games during the game, after checking out his explanation. The team did not disclose the amount of the fine, but a spokesman said the team was satisfied with the explanation.

Woolridge said he missed the team bus Friday in Philadelphia and was injured in an accident on the New Jersey Turnpike while trying to drive to the game. Woolridge was treated for a head injury at a Camden, N.J., hospital.

After being released, he checked into a hotel and didn’t call the Nets until 6 p.m. Saturday, explaining that he was groggy and disoriented. He missed Saturday night’s game with Seattle and may not play tonight against Portland because of the head injury.
