If the answer on “Jeopardy!” is “A suburb of Kansas City, Mo.,” the question will definitely not be “Kansas City, Kan.,” the TV game show’s producer said Tuesday. George Vosburgh wrote an apology to Kansas City, Kan., Mayor Joseph E. Steineger Jr. after the mayor complained bitterly about the city’s being referred to as a suburb of Kansas City, Mo., on the quiz show. But Vosburgh stopped short of conceding an error. “We are not necessarily incorrect. . . . We just will not refer to it that way in the future.” Steineger said he was satisfied with the apology, but still rankled at the original comment.
