Governing boards of two of the nation’s largest energy unions reportedly met separately in Denver to discuss a possible merger. Executive boards of the United Mine Workers of America and the Oil Chemical and Atomic Workers International Union have been meeting privately since Monday, according to a union source, who spoke on condition of anonymity. Each union reports about 100,000 active members.
