2 Inmates Hurt in Housekeeping Fight
Two County Jail inmates were injured Wednesday in a fight over housekeeping, authorities said.
Sheriff’s Sgt. Suzanne Hatcher said Donald Mellion was treated for cuts on the face and body at UC San Diego Medical Center, then returned to the jail.
The other inmate, Thomas Jerecki, was treated at Physicians & Surgeons Hospital for a cut on his arm and returned to the jail, Hatcher said.
Hatcher said the fight between the prisoners, who were housed in the same module, erupted at about 1 p.m. after an argument over housekeeping.
