An Arch to Honor Immigrants
May I suggest that those “private money” donors who wish to celebrate Los Angeles as the “West Coast Gateway” for immigrants with a gigantic arch over the freeway (Part I, Feb. 13) consider donating their funds to the essential city problems exacerbated by floods of immigrants.
If these private donors sincerely wish to enhance the city, improvement of the sewer system and a practical light rail means of transport might better serve future generations than an artistic archway.
