An Arch to Honor Immigrants

Share

It’s an interesting project to even think of building a monument “that will pay tribute to the contributions of immigrants who have helped shape Los Angeles,” but a waste of money as those immigrants are no longer around to enjoy the honor.

At a projected $40 million which, of course, will ultimately be closer to $50 million, or more, that money, even though “funded entirely by private money,” would be better spent on something as useful as providing shelter and food for the homeless who keep crowding the streets of our nation.

There’s so much “crazy money” in the movies and TV that it would be nice to hear that some of it goes toward that kind of help, but I read nothing about such help.
