The state Court of Appeal has upheld a lower court decision ordering the destruction of a pit bull terrier that attacked a woman in San Francisco’s Bayview District. The dog’s owner, Earl A. Lawrence, was given two weeks to respond to the ruling. If the verdict isn’t challenged, the 3-year-old dog, named Hee-Bee, will be put to death, said attorney Susan York, with the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The unanimous ruling by the three-judge court followed a hearing Feb. 19. The dog is being kept in a 4-by-6-foot cage at the San Francisco SPCA. Rosa Salmeron, 34, a waitress, said she was bitten many times on both legs on Dec. 16, 1986.
