Perez, Taylor Meet Tonight in 10-Round Bout
Tommy Perez of Santa Ana will face Sammy Ray Taylor of San Diego tonight in the scheduled 10-round main event of the monthly boxing program at the Irvine Marriott Hotel.
Perez (16-3), who has 10 knockouts, has won his last four fights at Irvine.
Taylor (9-2) will be fighting a 10-round fight for the first time.
Trevor Goddard (175 pounds) from England fights Greg (Doc) Holiday of Los Angeles in the four-round semi main event.
In two of the five scheduled four-round preliminary bouts: Kirk Bocock of Spokane faces Francisco Jiminez of East Los Angeles at 125 pounds and Oscar Garza of Portland meets Eddie Valdivia of La Palma at 122.
The first of seven bouts starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $30, $25 and $20 go on sale at 10 a.m. at the Grand Ballroom of the Marriott.
