A man with a gun in each hand jumped out of a taxi near the Alamo and opened fire, wounding four people at random before being shot by law officers, San Antonio, Tex., authorities said. Marvin Duncan, 55, of San Antonio was charged with six counts of attempted capital murder and ordered held on $1.5 million bail. Police Chief William O. Gibson said he knew no reason for the attack. Duncan who sustained a thigh wound was reported in good condition at a hospital. Most seriously wounded in the attack was a 29-year-old woman who was hit in the stomach and chest. The other victims suffered relatively minor wounds. Court records show Duncan was judged insane in 1981 after being charged with attempted capital murder in the shooting of a grocery store clerk. The charge was dismissed and he was committed to San Antonio State Hospital. Authorities did not say when he was released.
