President Suharto of Indonesia accepted the nomination of the dominant Golkar party for a fifth term as leader of the Southeast Asian nation. Party leaders ended speculation over the No. 2 position by naming Sudharmono, 61, the powerful head of the state secretariat, as the vice presidential nominee. Suharto is running unopposed and almost certain to be reelected March 10 by the 1,000-member People’s Consultative Assembly. Nomination of Sudharmono puts him in line to take over as president if Suharto resigns before the end of his term in 1993, as he has hinted he might do.
