The 3 1/2-year-old girl who received five organs in an unprecedented multiple transplant operation has hit “no major bumps” in her recovery four months after the surgery, hospital officials said Wednesday.

Tabatha Foster of Madisonville, Ky., was still in serious condition in Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. During the surgery Nov. 1, doctors replaced her liver, pancreas, small intestine and parts of her stomach and colon.

“Her recovery has really been somewhat uneventful,” Lynn McMahon of the hospital staff said. “She is really progressing fine. There have been no major bumps along the way.”
