Louis G. Seaton; Former Labor Negotiator for GM

Louis G. Seaton, 81, former chief labor negotiator at General Motors Corp. Seaton, who joined GM as a graphic artist in 1928, transferred to industrial relations in the early 1930s. In 1946, he was named director of labor relations, with responsibility for day-to-day relations with the United Auto Workers and national contract negotiations until his retirement in 1970 after more than 42 years with the world’s largest auto maker. He became a vice president in 1957. “Lou Seaton was a pioneer in the fields of labor relations and personnel policy in General Motors and the domestic automobile industry,” said GM Chairman Roger Smith.
