RESEARCHING W. A. SHARP

Share

For research and publishing purposes, I would like to hear from relatives or other informed people about California artist William Alexander Sharp, a long-time resident of Alhambra (after 1906 until 1944). Sharp (1864-1944) worked in several media including drawing, watercolor, etching, painting, metalwork and stained glass. He was associated with Frank Miller of the Mission Inn in Riverside and with Arthur Benton, architect, Los Angeles. Sharp’s work was signed W. A. Sharp and also Sharp & Sons. His work was exhibited at the Los Angeles Art Museum in the early 1920s and also in Washington. It is important to locate pieces currently in private and public collections.
