Country music’s Johnny Cash is enlisting stars to help bail out the financially ailing Nashville Symphony. “I believe we can bring together a concert of big names and raise some big bucks,” Cash said recently. The singer said he’s put calls in to Glen Campbell and Neil Diamond but has no specific concert date yet. Cash will have to work the benefit in around his imminent tour of the Midwest and a European tour that starts April 20. The symphony board canceled the last half of its season earlier this year because of a shortage of funds.
