Movietime, a basic cable programming service, said it has received a capital infusion exceeding $10 million from six of the nation’s largest cable systems operators and Home Box Office, the largest pay-TV service company. The participating operators include American Television & Communications, Continental Cablevision, Cox Cable Communications, Newhouse Broadcasting, United Cable Television and Warner Cable Communications. Movietime, launched last August, provides entertainment news on a 24-hour basis.
