Young Men and Violence

I do not make a practice of humoring the pathological fringes of movements such as Prof. Brown of San Diego State represents, but I cannot conceal my contempt for her baseless notion in her column that Richard Farley in the tragic shootings in a Sunnyvale electronics firm acted out “our culture’s message that men can and should possess women.” Poor Farley was simply a felonious kook who must be punished for his willful appetite for bloodshed.

Regrettably, the extreme sections of the social sciences, whose malignant finger has touched much of the history discipline, have been commandeered by a group of marauding bullies.
