Doctors to Check Biden for Blood Clot in Leg
Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr. (D-Del.), who underwent brain surgery a month ago to repair an aneurysm in a blood vessel, checked into Walter Reed Army Medical Center on Sunday night so doctors could see if he is suffering from a blood clot in his leg, a hospital spokesman said.
Spokesman Pete Esker said: “We’re looking to see if there’s a blood clot in one of his legs, and we want to make sure that if there is, it is not moving toward the heart or the brain.”
Biden had undergone surgery on Feb. 12 to repair an aneurysm in an artery supplying blood to his brain.
Doctors found a second aneurysm during the first operation and said surgery eventually will have to be repeated.
