*** “The Roseanne Barr Show.” HBO. $39.95.

“By the time my husband comes home at night, if those kids are alive, I’ve done my job.” That’s how Barr, one of the best women comedians around, sums up her view of being a housewife and mother--roles she knows all too well. Though the anti-men (and even anti-sex) anger sometimes gets more scary than funny (Barr often comes close to being the female Sam Kinison, but seethes where Kinison shouts), most of her R-language material rings strongly with the humor of seldom-admitted truth. Even better is the bizarre “Roseanne at home” mock-sitcom that frames the stand-up act. Previously shown on HBO cable--as were two simultaneous releases at the same price: “Howie Mandel: Live From Maui” and “Reunion--the 10th Annual Young Comedians Special.” Information: (800) 327-4767.
