A 48-year-old woman who offered a $10,000 reward for information on who killed her husband with a pipe bomb has been arrested in connection with his slaying, Riverside County officials said. June Powers was held in the county jail in Indio in lieu of $250,000 bail for investigation of murder, correctional officer William McDonald said. The Palm Springs resident was arrested after evidence obtained by search warrant was gathered at her home, authorities said, adding that the woman had made some inconsistent statements to investigators. Officials declined to release further details. Carl Powers, 49, a painting contractor, was found dead in his pickup truck in Yucca Valley on Feb. 29 after the bomb exploded in the vehicle.
