Douglas Fairbanks Jr., 81, returned to the British stage for the first time in 12 years Sunday night. Fairbanks, an honorary knight, was a master of ceremonies at the Adelphi Theatre for a royal gala to raise funds for the blind, attended by Princess Margaret, sister of Queen Elizabeth II. Fairbanks, who lives in New York and Palm Beach, Fla., last acted in London’s West End in 1976 in a comedy, “The Pleasure of His Company,” at the Phoenix Theater.
