A 22-year-old transient was arraigned Monday in connection with three robberies in Dana Point and Capistrano Beach during February and early March, authorities said Monday.

Michael D. Marano, whose address was unknown, was arrested Saturday after police officers spotted him in San Clemente, Sheriff’s Lt. Bob Rivas said.

Rivas said law enforcement agencies had been looking for the suspect for several weeks.

Marano was arraigned Monday on charges of two counts of armed robbery and one count each of grand theft and assault with a deadly weapon, officials said.

Rivas said Marano had been paroled Jan. 25 from the California Youth Authority, where he had served time on robbery charges, Rivas said.

Rivas said the suspect confessed Saturday to armed robberies on Feb. 15 and March 8 at a Chevron service station in Dana Point and the March 13 robbery of a home in Capistrano Beach.

Marano was being held in County Jail, Rivas said.
