U.S. Troops in Honduras

The Russians have always been the masters in the game of international chess. Tradition has placed them in a league of their own in the art of strategical thinking and the science of ultimate control and power. In the world today as the political unrest brews in Latin America and the superpowers fight to gain control, it is quite evident that the game has surpassed the confines of a simple chessboard.

First, a pawn was established in the island of Cuba, which counteracted against the U.S. pawn in Guantanamo. Next, a pawn was moved into the mainland as Nicaragua became the spearhead of the Russian game. The Americans made their move as Honduras became home of the American pawn. A stalemate is probably now at hand in that area of the board. It’s now the Soviets time to play in their own secretive way as opposed to the boldness that has characterized the U.S. moves.

As the game intensifies closer and closer to the American base, the odds are in favor of the traditional masters of the game whose audacious moves have been a trademark in the history of the game.
