El Monte : Cycle Officers to Return

The Police Department, which hasn’t had motorcycle officers since the 1960s, will bring them back beginning April 1. The City Council recently urged the creation of a motorcycle unit, although no formal vote was taken. The two officers in the unit will investigate traffic accidents, issue traffic tickets and help control traffic during events such as parades, police said.
