** “The Thrill of It All.”MCA. $59.95.
Doris Day as a bouncy housewife who scores so resoundingly as a TV soap pitchwoman that her marriage with doctor James Garner is imperiled. Norman Jewison directed, but overall it’s surprisingly labored, with that cheesy, set-bound look of a lot of many early ‘60s Universal pictures. The good moments--Carl Reiner’s TV satires, a zippy Day-Garner bedroom argument, and one great gag about a suds-engulfed swimming pool--are outweighed by the sunny-cheeked prurience and programmed coyness. Thrilling it’s not.
