N. Joseph Ross, 79; Celebrity Attorney
N. Joseph Ross, an entertainment industry attorney whose list of past and current clients included Jerry Lewis, Nat (King) Cole, Johnny Mathis, Frank Sinatra, the Dorsey brothers and many more, died Thursday of heart failure at Hillcrest Country Club in Beverly Hills. He was 79.
Ross joined the firm of Pacht, Tannenbaum & Ross in 1929 and most recently had been associated with Ruden, Richman & Appel. In addition to celebrities, Ross performed legal services for Music Corp. of America, Associated Booking Corp. and General Arts Corp.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette, three sons and five grandchildren. The family asks donations to the Heart Families Program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center or the Jewish Federation Vocational Services Scholarship Fund.
