Ingrid Kristiansen of Norway completed a remarkable double at Auckland, New Zealand, winning her second world title in the space of six days.

Kristiansen, 32, won the World Cross Country Championships, beating Angela Tooby of Britain by 19 seconds. Her time for the 3.72 miles was 19 minutes 4 seconds.

Last weekend, Kristiansen easily took the world 15-kilometer road race title in Adelaide, Australia, winning by two minutes.

John Ngugi of Kenya won the men’s title for the third straight year as Kenyans took eight of the first nine places.

Ngugi was timed in 34:32 for 7.5 miles. He beat teammate Paul Kipkoech, the world 10,000 meters champion, by 22 seconds, and 41-year-old compatriot William Koskei was third.
