Bengals to Open Summer Camp on July 10

The Cincinnati Bengals will conduct their 1988 preseason training camp at Wilmington College in Wilmington for the 21st consecutive year.

Rookies are to report to the camp July 10 and veteran players are due July 14. Full-squad workouts will be conducted twice daily starting July 15.

The Bengals have been training at Wilmington College since their initial season in 1968 in the American Football League, which merged with the NFL in 1970.

The Bengals will break training camp Aug. 12 to resume preseason workouts at the team’s Spinney Field training complex in Cincinnati.

The Bengals open the NFL’s exhibition schedule July 31 against the Rams in the annual Pro Football Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio. Cincinnati previously played one other time in that game, losing, 17-9, to Washington in 1975.

Cincinnati’s exhibition schedule includes games Aug. 6 at Kansas City, Aug. 13 at Buffalo, Aug. 20 against Detroit in Cincinnati and Aug. 27 at New England.
