AROUND HOME : NEW BOOKS : The Epicurean Gardener : JOHN F. ADAMS Dutton, 1988

Share

GARDENERS ARE opinionated proselytizers; they know what works for them and they are absolutely certain that it will work for others. Adams is a more playful writer than most of his gardening colleagues: His chapter on squash, melons and cucumbers is titled “Big Fat Fruits That Grow on Vines.” He is quite serious with advice, though, explaining his successful methods for growing usual and unusual vegetables and fruits in relatively small spaces. A useful book for a beginning or experienced gardener; $18.95.
