Opposition to Warner Ridge

Share

Your article says the developer of Warner Ridge is proposing changes described as “significant and important.” I agree!

Moving his project farther north and west, covering the flood control channel and planting trees and grass over the cover, closing the Oxnard Street entrance/exit, placing a second entrance/exit on De Soto, rerouting traffic to prevent residents of the community from moving in and out of the area when they want to or need to--these changes are all “significant and important.”

How do any one of these proposed changes help this community? The project is still seven buildings up to seven stories high. It is still 810,000 square feet. There are still parking structures for more than 3,000 automobiles. The project still violates the community plan.

Do the alterations benefit the community? I think not.

When will these people come to their senses and really alter the project to the satisfaction of the community? Also, why are they working so hard to make it “virtually invisible”?

How about not spending the $5 million and taking less profit on a residential project consistent with existing zoning!
