Share

A public hearing by the Housing and Community Development Advisory Board on April 6 will seek input on how to distribute $294,000 in federal block grant money.

The meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. in the Fountain Valley City Council Chambers, 10200 Slater Ave.

The federal money, according to city officials, can be used for projects such as neighborhood rehabilitation and low-interest loan programs for home refurbishment. Community organizations that provide services in such fields as education, health care and counseling also are eligible for funds.

High priorities include help for low- and moderate-income families, low-interest loan programs and prevention and elimination of slums and blight.

City staff members request that residents submit their ideas by letter before the meeting so board members have time to study them. Letters can be mailed to Joan Dean, Housing and Community Development Department, city of Fountain Valley, 10200 Slater Ave., Fountain Valley, Calif. 92708. For inquiries, call (714) 965-4400, Ext. 261.
