Local News in Brief : Anaheim : Flood Control Project Gets Supervisors’ OK
The county Board of Supervisors has approved a $1.25-million flood control project for the West Anaheim area.
The project, an extension of the Gilbert-Cerritos Storm Drain, will alleviate drainage problems on Ball Road between Gilbert Street and Empire Street and is intended to protect the area from flood damage.
“We need only remember the damage caused by storms in recent years, particularly in areas that lacked adequate storm drainage systems” to justify the expenditure for the project, said 4th District Supervisor Don R. Roth, who represents Anaheim.
