A woman who stalked her former psychologist for years before shooting him, his wife and 7-year-old daughter in an ambush outside their home was sentenced today to life in prison.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge David Horowitz also ordered Kimberly Gracyalny, 30, to make $10,000 restitution to her victims. Gracyalny will have to serve at least 12 years in prison before she will be eligible for parole, prosecutors said.
In a plea bargain with the district attorney’s office last month, Gracyalny pleaded guilty to one count of premeditated attempted murder and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon.
In exchange for her pleas, five other attempted murder charges and one count of shooting into an inhabited dwelling were dismissed.
Psychologist David Fox, 33; his wife, Deborah, 31, and their 7-year-old daughter were wounded Dec. 20 as they returned to their Fairfax District home. Three sons, ages 9, 10, and 18 months, escaped injury.
Police Lt. Robert Kimball said Fox treated Gracyalny for about a year beginning in 1982.
