GODFREY, Ill. — Fourteen people were injured, one critically, when a van struck a tree and burst into flames as it was carrying residents of a center for the developmentally disabled on an Easter outing.
The driver of the van, from Beverly Farms Foundation Inc., lost control because of a steering problem, police said. They said motorists helped passengers from the van before it burst into flames.
