A&M; Records has reached an out-of-court settlement with Los Angeles independent record promoter Joseph Isgro in his $25-million antitrust lawsuit against a number of major U.S. record labels. In settling with the promoter, Los Angeles-based A&M; joins Motown Records, Capitol Records, Polygram Records, RCA Records and Chrysalis Records, leaving only MCA Records and Warner Communications defending against the suit, which claims that the major companies engaged in a conspiracy to terminate the use of independent promotion due to its increased cost. The case is set to go to trial April 26 in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles.
