Baseball : Navarette Has No-Hitter for Valencia
Robert Navarette pitched a no-hitter to lead Valencia High School over Savanna, 4-0, in an Orange League baseball game Wednesday at Valencia.
Navarette (2-0) struck out eight and walked two.
Keef Leasure hit a three-run home run in the first inning for Valencia (6-4-1, 2-2-1).

Brea-Olinda 12, Anaheim 3--Aaron Charlton (1-2) pitched a seven-hitter and had two hits for visiting Brea-Olinda (3-10-1, 1-2-1). Chad Marlow had 3 hits and 2 RBIs and Ed Garcia had 2 hits and 3 RBIs for Brea-Olinda.
In the Sunset League:
Fountain Valley 4, Westminster 3--George Hoffstaetter hit a game-tying single and Tom Mendoza scored on a passed ball for the winning run as host Fountain Valley (7-7, 2-2) scored two runs in the sixth inning.
Huntington Beach 6, Marina 5--Dan Miller and Tom Flores walked with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh for host Huntington Beach (11-3, 2-2). Gerald Cawhorn hit a two-run home run in the first and Chris Bowen hit a solo home run in the third for Huntington Beach.
In the Garden Grove League:
La Quinta 13, Santiago 0--John Park hit a pair of three-run home runs and Mark Dion went 2 for 4, hit a three-run home run and scored 3 runs. Jason Cherms went 3 for 5 and Jerry Arneson went 2 for 4 for La Quinta (12-4, 3-0),
Kennedy 6, Los Amigos 3--Pete Montera pitched a six-hitter with seven strikeouts for host Kennedy (8-8, 2-1). Bill Hose’s two-out two-run single gave Kennedy a 5-2 lead in the fifth inning.
Pacifica 15, Bolsa Grande 3--Todd Long (5-1) struck out 6 and allowed 2 hits in 5 innings to lead Pacifica (10-3, 3-0) to its 10th straight victory. Kevin Ashworth had three hits and five RBIs for Pacifica.
In the South Coast League:
Irvine 7, El Toro 1--John Bretza (5-1) pitched a four-hitter, struck out 6 and walked 2 in a complete game, Scott Vollmer went 2 for 3 with a double and Mike Nau went 2 for 2 with 2 RBIs for Irvine (11-3, 4-0).
Capistrano Valley 6, San Clemente 1--Charles Lockard had three hits and two RBIs to lead visiting Capistrano Valley (6-8, 2-2). Jim Kemper (3-4) pitched six innings and had a two-run single. Chris Ashburn, Bill Bardens, David Guillen, Matt Spence and Chris Wend had two hits each for Capistrano Valley.
Mission Viejo 5, Dana Hills 3--Troy Copp (5-1) pitched a five-hitter for host Mission Viejo (11-2, 2-2).
