“The Bigger Splash.” Lagoon. $69.95. Prize-winning 1974 film about (and featuring) British-L.A. artist David Hockney. Information: (213) 823-4024.

“49th Parallel.” VidAmerica. $39.98. Notable 1941 film, starring Leslie Howard and Laurence Olivier and directed by Michael Powell, depicting the plight of a German U-Boat crew stranded in Canada in the early days of WWII.

“Colossus: The Forbin Project.” MCA. $59.95. Suspenseful, well-made thriller about a computer (circa 1970) that tries to take over the world.

“Sorrowful Jones.” MCA. $29.95. Remake of sentimental race-track comedy-drama “Little Miss Marker,” this time (1949) starring Bob Hope and Lucille Ball. Sporadically enjoyable, but not the stars’ best.

“The Riddle of the Sands.” VidAmerica. $69.98. Made in 1979 but not released in U.S. until ‘84, this adaptation of Erskine Childers’ classic naval-spy thriller (set in 1901) stars Michael York.

“Beau Geste.” MCA. $29.95. The 1966 version of the much-remade Foreign Legion warhorse is more violent, less romantic and less watchable than others--and its stars (Doug McClure, Telly Savalas) aren’t exactly Gary Cooper (who was in the 1939 film) either.

“Silent Night, Lonely Night.” MCA. $39.95. TV melodrama about two lonely people (Shirley Jones, Lloyd Bridges) who find romance at Christmas.

“Battle Hell.” VidAmerica. $39.98. Based on actual incident of British ship trapped on Yangtze River during Chinese civil war.

“Eagles Attack at Dawn.” VidAmerica. $39.98. Israeli prisoner vents vengeance on Arabs.

“Murder Rap.” United. $79.95. Woman plots murder against her father.

Other videos “The Jetsons Meet the Flintstones.” Worldvision. $29.95. Animated 96-minute movie from Hanna-Barbera.

“Favorite Songs.” “Three Favorite Songs.” New World. $14.95 each. First two half-hour releases in Fisher-Price “Little People” series for ages 2-6.

“Score More!” CBS/Fox. $24.98. Bowling tips tape with Nelson (Bo) Burton Jr.

“Pee-wee’s Playhouse.” Hi-Tops. $14.95 each. First three volumes (“Ice Cream Soup,” “Luau for Two” and “Rainy Day”) of series that will make Pee-wee Herman’s wonderfully wacky Saturday morning kid show available on video.
